These are exercises in thinking about public matters with the conviction that publics matter. Publics are where we fulfill our highest human capacity: to speak and act in association to shape our common world. The institutions that guarantee, protect, and comprise our publics matter. They deserve the ongoing critical and strategic thinking of all of us who would be citizens.

GOBAMA
We donated all through the primary. We attended office opening in Fresno. We proselytized friends and family. We canvassed in Nevada. We hung signs and distributed leaflets. We wrote essays--especially after the Republican Convention when Palin and Giuliani dissed my profession (see Apologia Pro Vita Sua on my docs)l We celebrated the victory with friends. Now we have a smart, thoughtful, pragmatic, and progressive leader who knows how to listen. Now we are really ready to work. The movement he inspired and the organization that was created through many leaders needs to stay in tact--to hold him accountable and to give him a base. Let's reform this economy; let's end these wars; lets lead by fostering leadership everywhere in the world and at all levels in society.
